Drilling pipes are used for drilling and lifting of rock cutting tools, transmission of rotation, and creation of axial load on tools, supplying of washing liquid or compressed air to the bottom.
Drilling pipes are interconnected by joints with special lock threads. The ends of the pipes are thickened to increase the strength of their external, internal or combined upsets.
The diameters of drilling pipes are 60, 73, 89, 102, 114, 127 and 139 mm. Steel drilling pipes are of strength groups D, K, E, L, M, E75, X95, G105. Types of upset are external and combined. Drilling pipes are produced in accordance with GOST 50278-92, GOST 8467-83, GOST 631-80, API Spec 5DP and various specifications.
